    Larimar is considered a healing stone highly attuned to the human body, said to assist in the natural healing process. It resonates particularly with Vushuddha chakra, the throat chakra, and is said to assist in communication and speech. It is thought by some to be the stone Edgar Cayce referred to when speaking of a blue healing stone that would be found in a Caribbean land mass which used to be Atlantis.

    • Origin and Legends

      The more turtling present in Larimar, the higher the quality and the more rare. Larimar is an extremely rare stone, found only in a mountainous, relatively inaccessible area in the province of Barahona in the Dominican Republic. Most small blocks of Larimar exist in upstream mountains where they form. However through erosion, some pieces broke off and were deposited by the river into the Caribbean Sea where they were first discovered. Larimar is considered a healing stone. It is also called the Atlantis Stone, because a Spiritual master who founded many Yoga Centers across the world, claimed that some islands in the Caribbean including the Dominican Republic were part of the lost continent of Atlantis. Edgar Cayce, "The Sleeping Prophet" (1877-1945), indicated that part of Atlantis could be found in the Caribbean and that a blue stone with extraordinary healing attributes would be found. Whatever you believe, this is a very beautiful stone with it's caribbean blue and white "turtling". Rare. And one of my all time favorites.
